New things

When you don’t see him for a week, he will almost certainly surprise you with something! This time, it was several things:

He found my old sunglasses. „Opened“ them. Gave them to me. And waited for me to put them on. Laughed when he saw me with it. Took them back and tried to put them on, too.

He tried to comb his hair with a spatula.

He gave me his new boat when he was having his bath after he had watched my wind it up. He waited for me to wind it up and put it into the water and just before I let it go he smiled at me as though he wanted to say „We both know what’s gonna happen now. This is really nice!“. He repeated the whole thing a couple of times and I really enjoyed every time he was smiling at me.

He fell asleep in my arms so peacefully in front of the fireplace. Normally going to bed is a big pain and I think the last time he fell asleep in my arms was some time in July! I could see the flickering light of the fire on his skin… it was something to store in memory for a long time!

Light – licht

Light is important and interesting, especially if a certain 14,5-month-old discovers a new light-device! He is getting a little out of focus  now – the lens I bought last year does not seem to work automatically anymore… and he is just too fast for a manual adjustment!

Just back from Hungary with fresh round cheeks, he was put into the snow. Didn’t find it funny. After the first steps he started to complain. Tomorrow we will try again!

Kartoffelei – Potatoes

It is incredible what one does to avoid boredom…for instance using interesting kitchen devices in combination with food to play with. Albert found out, that he can place the potato on the hole of the wooden spoon, that it does not fit through the hole and that sometime – if you are lucky – the potato actually stays on the hole for a little while. Here you find a portrayal of a well-known playing child with its mother (who shows funny facial expressions and produces weird noise). Object of attention: wooden spoon and potato.

Going wild – wild werden

Eating is an adventure. Especially when trying something new. In this case semolina pudding (so tells me the dictionary to call it). The recipe for the game is as follows: Take everything that is close to you and just stick it in. And once more. Then put your hands in and rubb it all over the table.

Who could resist the magic of food?

Essen ist ein Abenteuer. Besonders, wenn man etwas Neues ausprobiert. Griessbrei in diesem Fall.

As soon as you leave him out of sight, he comes up with something new. For instance stealing the cheese from the kitchen table and (because he is is hungry) starting to eat it. No one could argue that he lacks problem solving skills….
